Raul getting abuse on TV3 despite Ramires being the one responsible for that in any sane formation given the personnel

Also, how not good enough is Gary Cahill, ridiculously bad there again.

Feel a bit bad for Lampard and Essien in all of this tbh, they both are quality.

Benitez in @ Chelsea? I think I'd get over it just for the mahooooooooooosive U-turn the press would do when he actually turns them around from being a pile of bollox into a scary team again.
I gave her gifts of the mind I gave her the secret sign that's known to the artists who have known the true gods of sound and stone and word and tint. I did not stint for I gave her poems to say with her own name there and her own dark hair like clouds over fields of May.

Stoke resting 9 first team players for the valencia game :erno:

1-0 down from the first leg, your first european campaign in fuck knows how long, just give up :y:

probably more comfortable giving up than coming up with a gameplan that involves trying to win and not just cheating and timewasting

I think it works like this

reckless tackling, shirt pulling, free kick fouling, time wasting = good ol fashioned british cheating so not technically cheating

diving, card waving, injury feigning = nasty foreign cheating.

On rafa/chelsea I dont think it'd work, ageing squad with huge egos does not suit his style of management at all, be like inter again.

Yeah, Pulis is pretty obviously a massive animal bothering cunt. You should never trust a man of his age who wears a baseball cap the whole time.

Danny's talking sense on the Rafa to Chelsea thing. The older players, who are the ones who've been causing the problem for the last five years, would fucking hate him, and Abramovich, who's been (silently) crying out for sexy, Barca style football would be asking him to take a step to the left (right over the cunningly concealed trapdoor in his office) after about three games.

Rafa at Chelsea would be a blood bath for the rest of the season.

Stoke are so horribly outclassed here, I can't understand why he's resting his players.

It seems you can't just win a trophy for the sheer joy of it these days, readers. Instead it needs to be part of a long-term vision or strategy. Just ask Liverpool's director of football, Damien Comolli. It turns out that Liverpool's Rumbelows Cup win on Sunday wasn't just a nice day out in London and a chance to equal the heady heights of Birmingham City's 2010-11 season. No, instead it was part of something called The Project. "A lot players I know are very interested about joining The Project because it's a very interesting Project," Comolli says in today's Mirror. "We already know that there are big players who want to join us next summer because they believe in The Project."

The Mirror is willing to scupper The Project in its infancy by naming these players: Spain international playmaker Javi Martínez, Barcelona's Seydou Keïta and Lille's Belgian forward Eden Hazard. The Metro reckons Granit Xhaka is in on it too. What they won't tell you is that the second part of The Project involves Jay Spearing developing a high-frequency soundwave machine that will be used to control the UN security council from a secret lab built far below Anfield.

The Project :adore:

Hopefully it doesnt involve Mark Albrighton £20m, Keiran Richardson £20m, Grant Holt £35m & Joey Barton £8.5m.

You're so odd. You are super beligerant, and quite often right, but then you curve ball the world with stuff like this. He's another good club player and nothing more.

He scores goals all of the time. I like players that score goals all of the time. They are very good players to me.

Would I say he's better than Gerrard of course not, would I say he's better than Gareth Barry, Paul Scholes, Anderson, Jack Wilshire, Stephen Ireland, Charlie Adam, anyone else in an attacking role at Chelsea etc. etc. he's much better than he's given credit for in my opinion.

just watched barcelona on some random foreign channel and its now the post game analysis, carlton palmer is one of the pundits

anyway the presenter goes '*insert name* on twitter says that without messi barcelona are just a load of trash'

and then in all seriousness asks the pundits "does he have a point?"
