I dont think thats true, as a club we always give managers time apart from hodgson who didnt deserve any because of the way he behaved and the style of play he used

Houllier was shit at first remember then in time built a good team, same with rafa (league wise)

LL tbh I think if we sacked Kenny youd be happy for a bit before wanting his replacement sacked as soon as he made a decision you disagreed with

Maybe, maybe but then we still have a team completely reliant on Gerrard and he just can't do it forever.

I think I'd honestly rather we'd never sold Flo Po Baros and Cisse just kept those three since and we'd be doing alright.

Not really mate, if we brought in a manager capable of playing attacking football and not signing utter shite I'd be grand, we've not had that though it's either ultra-negative football under Rafa and Woy or team destroying signings from Woy and Kenny which lead to worse results.

£63mil on Carroll Downing and Adam, if any other manager had done that people would have burned him alive.

Bit bizarre there considering we got loads better with the superior replacements we bought but ok

As in long term they'd be better to have now than 3 strikers than can't score.

Didn't we just ship them out and replace them with Torres on his own or am I missing someone?

Would love to have Mellor on the books at the moment to watch that Hartsonesque figure wobble its way goalwards.

Le Tallec, the future of football :adore:

Forgot about 1st time Bellers, big regret selling him, Dirk was never a striker.

I'd take Cisse and Baros tomorrow if we could get them in and ship Carroll/Suarez out for a 60mil turnaround.

Chelsea have stuck out their financial results on a nice quiet day when they'll get plenty of coverage. Losses down from £70.9m to £67.7m

Someone tell me how that works with financial fair play? Presumably they have reasons and excuses lined up for why most of/all that 67m doesnt count?

I think contracts signed before last summer are excluded from FFP. And also I think that UEFA are going to be more lenient if you can show you're moving in the right direction - ie your losses are going down.

isnt it that as long as you make less of a loss than the year before its fine?

so if man city lose 300m this year, they can lose 299, then 298, then 297 etc. ?

i may have got that completely wrong though

I don't think it's 'fine', just that they're look more favourably upon you if you're making an effort to reduce your losses - I think it'd have to be a bit better than 300m > 299m > 298m etc.

I think PF is about right 'generally moving in the right direction' is something I have read before. Whether they'd take 199 and then 198 I dont know.

Will be interesting though. Unless Chelsea stop buying players they aren't going to make that 67 mill loss in to a profit any time soon.

My example was probably ott but Im thinking this 'moving in the right direction' thing is the loophole thats going to be exploited and why no clubs (apart from arsenal. maybe) seem to be bothered about ffp at all.

FFP is a load of bollocks.

That's the official line I believe.

i know there was the stat in here bout adam and us winning 8 of the 9 games he hasnt started

just read that we've only won 2 of 11 that spearing has started too

meaningless stats or each somewhat to blame?

Umm I like the Adam one so I will believe that, the Spearing one doesnt fit though so I shall ignore that.

What's the overlap between those games in which Adam and Spearing have started?

And in any case, Adam is supposed to provide something going forward unlike Adam.
