Still not convinced we need a stadium at all, obviously the idea is say an extra 15,000 tickets @ 36 = an extra 540,000 per game but are we even selling out Anfield these days? We havent consistently sold out over the course of a season for as long as I can remember anyway.

How many years before and after the stadium (and assuming we sell out the extra tickets) do we have to go before we get any extra money from it? Its been about 10 for arsenal so far and they do actually sell out at utterly ludicrous prices. Also do wonder if the historic legendary bla bla bla anfield plays a part in attracting the foreign fans to actually go to liverpool that a 'WARRIOR FSG BOWL STADIUM' or whatever wouldnt.

The new ticketing system is a joke, I bet that's at least partially contributed to the reduced attendances this season. Who wants to buy tickets for May in fucking December?

However whilst enduring the torture of the Blackburn game at least I had three seats around me to spread out. If new stadium = more leg room I'm all for it, I blame Anfield for my on going knee issues.

I'd imagine, obviously in addition to extra seats, another reason to make a new ground worthwhile would be corporate facilties, which are obviously big money spinners (and are shit at Anfield).

Plus I do think we're generally pretty much still full up at Anfield most weeks.

Also with a new ground, it'd be nice to have some decent transport links too - must be a bit off putting for foreign fans coming to games trying to actually get to the ground.

The Telegraph doesnt seem to think theres THAT much money in corporate boxes outside london, especially after the recession, reckons they'll have to downsize the original plans for amount of boxes.

Thats my point tbf, doesnt it being nearly full each week mean its about the right size ? Theres not thousands of people who cant go because they cant get a ticket and theres not thousands of empty seats.

I just worry about us doing a bit of a valencia, we know we cant sell out anfield unless the team is doing well, and if building a stadium takes money away from the team and they do less well then it makes the stadium pointless too.

Valencia's probably was more cos the money ran out, no?

We still have a huuuuge waiting list for season tickets. I'm pretty sure we could be averaging 55000+

The talk seems to be that we can vary the design so long as it fits the approved footprint.

I'm not sure how true that is. I thought planning consent was pretty specific.

I guess maybe if you change the footprint you resubmit, but if you change some of the internas you can submit an amendment or something that is done quicker?

I guess an equivilent is a extension to your house, does the permission really care if you split that extension into 3 rooms or have 1 big room?
